Connect your domain
Find the correct DNS values for your WordPress website and make the change without overlooking email.
In this guide
Prepare the change
Keep access to the account where your domain is registered and to the service that currently manages its DNS. Those may be different accounts. Record the current DNS values before editing them, and identify any email, verification, or other services using the domain.
In Kiro, open Websites, choose Manage website for the intended website, and open Settings. Confirm its current domain, then select Hosting control panel. That panel covers the full hosting account, so recheck the selected website or service before changing anything.
Use the domain guidance
- In the hosting panel, open the website’s domain controls. Use Change Domain when assigning a different primary address.
- Enter the domain you own and review the DNS guidance shown for it.
- Choose whether to update the listed records at your current DNS provider or use the displayed nameservers. Use the exact values supplied for this website.
- If a DNS Zone Editor is available, select the correct domain before editing any record.
Do not copy a server address from another customer, a screenshot, or a different website. The required target can depend on how your service delivers traffic.
Protect email and other services
If you only need to point the website at Kiro, changing the relevant website records may be enough. Avoid removing unrelated records to tidy the zone. If you are unsure which records belong to which service, ask support before saving.
Verify the result
- Check both the primary address and the www address if your site uses it.
- Allow existing DNS caches to expire; different networks may update at different times.
- Confirm the expected site appears, then verify HTTPS before announcing the new address.
- Send and receive a test email if the DNS change could affect your mail service.
If a different website or an old address continues to appear, compare the saved records with the hosting panel’s instructions. Give support the domain, the records you changed, and the time of the change. Never include your registrar password.
