Check SSL and HTTPS
Confirm your domain has a valid certificate and resolve HTTPS problems without bypassing browser warnings.
In this guide
Before requesting a certificate
Start by confirming that the domain points to the destination shown in your hosting panel. Certificate requests can remain pending when domain validation cannot reach the expected website. A recent DNS change may need time to become visible to the systems checking it.
Use the certificate controls for your own website. Changes to your registrar, a separate proxy service, or a different hosting account will not necessarily update the certificate used by this site.
Check the hosting settings
- In Kiro, open Websites, select Manage website for the domain, and open Settings.
- Select Hosting control panel and locate the same website.
- When available, review SSL Certificate under the website’s Advanced security settings. Automatic certificates are managed through the hosting service.
- Wait for any pending certificate task to finish before checking the website again.
Verify HTTPS before redirecting
- Open the website using https:// and confirm the browser accepts the connection without a certificate warning.
- Check the hostname carefully, including www if you use that address.
- Browse important pages and confirm images, forms, and other resources load as expected.
If the full panel exposes Force HTTPS Redirect, enable it only after HTTPS works. Test the ordinary http:// address afterward to confirm that visitors reach the intended secure address rather than a redirect loop.
For a custom certificate, keep the private key private and confirm who is responsible for renewal. Never paste certificate keys or account credentials into a support conversation.
If the browser still warns
Record the exact warning, domain, approximate time, and whether DNS changed recently. If the site loads over HTTPS but individual resources are insecure, tell support which page and resource are affected. These details help distinguish certificate, DNS, redirect, and page-content issues.
